Drs. Lorentz & Esposito first met when Dr. Lorentz was in a training program at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY and Dr. Esposito her supervisor. Eventually they became colleagues as staff audiologists at the same facility. After St. Charles they both went to work at different ENT offices and individually started hearing aid dispensing practices. For the next 15 years they had parallel careers. They collaborated professionally, belonged to the same organizations and kept in touch professionally and personally. Realizing their goals and objectives for quality hearing healthcare were the same, they merged their practices and became Smithtown Hearing Services.
After joining their practices in 2000, Dr. Esposito & Dr. Lorentz dedicated themselves to providing premium hearing care in the Smithtown community. Recognizing the need for that same care on the South Shore, they opened Sayville Hearing Services in 2007 and plan to open a satellite office in Bay Shore in the near future. They have participated in a number of community health fairs and have provided free hearing assessments to senior groups, libraries, and assisted living facilities. They also maintain a speakers bureau and have provided educational presentations to physicians at Brookhaven Memorial Hospita, and other community organizations. They are members of the Smithtown, Nesconset and Sayville Chambers of Commerce.
In keeping with the 21st Century theme of “Wellness”, Drs. Esposito and Lorentz they have now dedicated their practice to raising awareness of Hearing Health and are currently involved in a community based initiative to provide free hearing assessments to the community. They have also committed to the nationwide Mission One Million goal of hearing assessment a million adults in the United States.
